LINE CALCULATION Upon general and geometric parameter input , the line calculation menu subdivides into two different sections:
Span test menu : In this case the carrier truck is on the ascent branch, and the horizontal distance of the truck from the span downstream end is pre-set. The temperature gradient is also required, i.e., the temperature difference in comparison with the temperature at bare rope laying time, at installation time, thus at datum tension setting time. Span selection can be carried out through the selectable menu options:
Filling in of the following boxes is in automatic mode:
The car abscissa default values can be changed according to the User's requirements. Calculation can be started up through the relevant pushbutton (Span test). Menu for the automatic testing of all the spans In this case, the program will provide for the setting of all the carrier trucks at the most crucial points in each single span. Therefore, the final results will coincide with the summary of all the calculus configurations carried out . The input mask makes it possible to select the number of the initial and final spans where the presence of the carrier truck is designed.
It is also required the test thermal gradient value, i.e., the temperature difference in comparison with the temperature at the bare ropes laying time, at installation time, thus, at datum tension setting time. Calculation can be started up through the relevant push button (All spans test). Usually, calculation is carried out relating to each single span, after positioning the carrier truck at five different positions in automatic mode:
Anyhow, it is possible to change this automatic setting by use of the four confirm pushbuttons (but the central position of the carrier truck is always tested out).
