LINE GEOMETRIC DATA INPUT
(absolute value mode )

There is the possibility to input up to 80 towers (snub bull wheel and drive bull wheel included); each tower is identified by progressive distance and height values. If the two line branches are not parallel, there is the possibility to define the descent branch too.

There are three pushbuttons available for line adding, line deleting and for the calculation of the length and differences in height of the single spans (Relative Values Calculation). The first two pushbuttons are only enabled by specific cursor positioning (in the tower number column) : a coloured label shows the actual condition. In the example below, the cursors marks tower nr.4, thus, the two pushbuttons (add/delete line) are enabled.

Handling the Ground Altitude column

The Ground Altitude column is handled in automatic mode, provided that the Relative Values Table is available, complete with the progressive distance and ground height values. In this case, once the cell has been filled in with the tower progressive distance, it is enough to go to the adjacent "Ground Altitude" cell to have this cell immediately filled in with the value found in automatic mode. Automatic calculation is only possible through shift step (by means of the mouse or the arrow key to the right from the left).

Handling the Rope Altitude column

Also this column is handled in automatic mode, according to the values in the "Ground Altitude" and "Tower Vertical Altitude" columns. Calculation is carried out during the shift step (through mouse of arrow key to the right from left) from the "Tower Vertical Altitude" column to the subsequent one "Rope Altitude". Obviously, automatic calculation is only enabled in the presence of significant values (<> 0) for ground altitude at the base of the tower and for the tower height. For line calculations, only the values relevant to "Rope Progressive Distance" and "Rope Altitude" columns are indispensable, whereas the remainder values can be omitted (or entered in a second time).

REMARK:
When the input process is finished, click the "Find relative values" pushbutton for confirmation. In this way all the geometrical values for span length and difference in height are found in automatic mode and, also the subsequent "relative" data input Excel sheet is filled in automatically.
