Involved academic institution for the development of this software:

Politecnico di Torino, Dept. ITIC – Transport engineering

This software and the related instruction manual are an enhancement and international version of an earlier Italian one named SIF ("Software Impianti a fune", i.e. Software for rope transport systems). They have been developed with the support of Politecnico di Torino – Dept. I.T.I.C. – Transport engineering within the Adventures Project ("Advanced Transports for University Education in Sarajevo", 2001-2004) funded by the European Commission (cd_jep-15045-2000) under the Tempus Programme, Education and Culture.

The software has been prepared by Eng. Vittoriano Vitali – who works at the Autonomous Province of Trento (I), Cableway Systems Service, at the "LAboratorio Tecnologico Impianti a Fune" (LATIF) – with the collaboration of Dr. Eng. Bruno Dalla Chiara, lecturer of Project and Design of Transportation Systems at the Polytechnic University of Torino and contact person for the TEMPUS Project "ADVENTURES". Prof. Kemo Sokolija coordinates the activities of the project for the University of Sarajevo.

The calculation programme and the related handbook have been prepared in their first version, that, though tested, might be improved and integrated.

V. Vitali and B. Dalla Chiara, for their respective competencies, would be glad to take into account any eventual suggestion that users of the software and of the handbook would notify at their own e-mail addresses: vittoriano.vitali@provincia.tn.it and bruno.dallachiara@polito.it.
